Dando London designs are inspired by culmination of Christine Dando’s experiences and passions she has developed throughout her life. Christine Dando moved away from the UK when she was 3 years old. Christine’s family travelled extensively across Europe and Asia, eventually settling in Aden, Yemen. Having been introduced to the cosmopolitan life as a child, she attributes her early travels as an inspiration and passion for a world of design and love of beautiful things.
Training in design, pattern cutting and dressmaking in Singapore, Christine was highly influenced by Charles and Diana's wedding in 1981 and opened her first bridal boutique in the UK not long after. Specializing in bespoke gowns she was recruited to move to Canada as Head Designer and Creative Director for the Alfred Sung range for Jai International and Jade Daniels. She was instrumental in developing the Callista collection for brides with curves and launched a collection, Christine Dando, under the Jai corporate umbrella.
When seeing a Dando London dress for the first time, it soon becomes apparent the passion which has been poured into the style, cut, fit and hand finishing of each dress. Using the finest quality fabrics and lace and highlighting the attention to detail to make sure that each bride feels effortlessly beautiful wearing her Dando dress. Drawing inspiration from a variety of diverse sources from Old Hollywood through to the natural world, Dando’s philosophy is to focus on the cut and fit of each gown to ensure our brides are comfortable and looking the very best they can.
Christine and Dando London gowns can be seen on the TLC TV show 'Say Yes to the Dress UK', working with brides and helping them look and feel amazing
